The Young Adult Service team is made up of doctors, nurses, cognitive behavioral therapists, a clinical psychologist, family therapist/social worker, occupational therapist, and group program therapists.

Caoileann Cassidy | Occupational Therapist

BScOT

Caoileann graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2009. She worked in school and community settings working with children and adolescents prior to joining St. Patrick's University Hospital in 2010.

Caoileann is particularly interested in sensory integration and is participating in further training in this area. Occupational therapy sessions focus on exploring and developing participation in everyday activities and are facilitated on an individual basis or in group settings.

Mary Connellan | CNS & Facilitator

Mary is a registered psychiatric nurse with a special interest in young people and education. Training completed of relevance to the programme include a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing, a MSc in Social and Vocational Rehabilitation Studies, and a certificate in Group facilitation skills. Mary has over twenty five years experience working with young people, programme development and delivery. Alan Ryan and Mary coordinate and facilitate the day to day running of the programme.

Anne Corr | Addiction Therapist & Group Facilitator

RPN, Dip Nursing Studies, Dip Addiction Studies, Dip Group Facilitation, Dip Forensic Psychology, Dip Child Psychology

Anne Corr is a registered Addiction Therapist and Psychiatric Nurse.  She has worked for many years in the area of addictions and mental health.  Anne developed an interest in Dual Diagnosis and has worked in this area for 6 years. She is currently working in the Dean Sandyford, St Edmundsbury Hospital and the Young Adult Program.  Anne is presently facilitating a weekly group with young adults.  The aim of this group is to educate and encourage young people to discuss their relationship with mood altering substances.  

Tom Hynes | Psychiatric Nurse

Tom Hynes is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with thirty years experience of working in mental health care. He has worked with the Young Adult Programme and the Eating Disorders Programme for the last twenty years.

Sinead O Connell | Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist

RPN, BNSHons, PG Dip Cognitive Psychotherapy, CNS

Sinead O Connellis a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy in Dean Clinic Lucan and St Patricks University Hospital. She has gained extensive experience in acute adult mental health services both in community and in-patient settings. Sinead has been practicing as a Cognitive Psychotherapist both at the Dean Clinics and St Patricks in a full time capacity since June 2009 with a special interest in Anxiety Disorders specifically Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Dr Paddy Power | Consultant Psychiatrist

MB BCh DCH MRCPsych, FRANZCP, MD

Dr. Paddy Power is the consultant psychiatrist for the Young Adult Service, seeing inpatients at St. Patrick's University Hospital and outpatients at the Dean Sandyford . He specialises in youth mental health and is registered both as an adult psychiatristand child & adolescent psychiatrist. His special interests are anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, early psychosis, schizophrenia, developmental disorders, ADHD, and suicide prevention.

Dr Power has 25 years experience in psychiatry. He trained initially in Dublin, then Australia and London. His special interest is in early intervention and this is the focus of most of his research and publications.

Dr Nicolas Ramperti | Senior Registrar

MRCPsych

Dr Nicolas Ramperti works as an honorary Senior Registrar with the Young Adult Service in the Dean Clinic, Lucan and St. Patrick's University Hospital, Dublin.

After obtaining his membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists Dr Ramperti worked as a clinical research fellow in early intervention in psychosis in Dublin.

He is Tutor in the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. He is also a member of the Irish College of Psychiatrist's advisory group on Early Intervention and the ACAMH Special Interest Group on youth mental health. His main interests are youth mental health, early intervention and anxiety disorders.

Alan Ryan | Nurse & Facilitator

R.P.N, BScN, PG Dip Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Alan Ryan is a registered Psychiatric nurse who commenced his training in 2003 in SPUH. He has extensive experience working with clients who have mental health problems.

After completing his Psychiatric nurse training at Trinity College Dublin, he undertook a Post Graduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent mental health in Trinity College Dublin.

Alan developed a special interest in working with the client group of older adolescents and young adults. Alan works on the young adult team as a nurse and also as a facilitator on the Young Adult Programme.
