About Willow Grove

The community based adolescent service is based at the Dean Clinic Lucan and the Willow Grove in-patient unit is based on campus at St. Patrick’s University Hospital. In accordance with National and International best practice and the regulations and Code of Practice of the Mental Health Commission, Willow Grove is completely separate and distinct from Adult units at the Hospital.

We are a national service and accept referrals from CAHMS teams and G.P.s.

Aim & Philosophy

The aim of the Willow Grove team is to form trusting relationships which can help young people and their families to build on existing strengths and develop new skills that may allow them to manage themselves and their feelings in a more appropriate way in the future.

Central to this belief is the concept of the therapeutic milieu. The therapeutic milieu is a structured, safe and supportive environment where staff engage not only with the distress and problems of the young person and their family, but also their strengths and assets.
