Overview of current Research Activities

Suicide in Undetected Psychosis: An Investigation of Suicides in Dublin. This is a study of all suspected suicides recorded at the Coroner's Office in Dublin during a two year period to determine the prevalence of suicide among those with undetected serious mental illness (in particular untreated psychotic disorders). The aim is to estimate the true rate of suicide among those with first episode psychosis as current estimates only include those in contact with mental health services. The study will attempt to identify barriers to effective treatment in this population with undetected illness.

An evaluation of the Young Adult Day Programme: This is a study of the impact of the Young Adult Program at St. Patrick's University Hospital.
